Jennifer Mansell,MSW CYT

Jennifer first discovered the practice of yoga in aims of finding balance within a highly active lifestyle. She soon discovered that yoga’s benefits extended far beyond the physical level.  Her interest and passion for yoga,self-inquiry and inner peace took her to India in 2005 where she spent 4 weeks at an ashram immersed in all aspects of yoga:jnana yoga (yoga philosophy),raja yoga (asana, meditation, pranayama),karma yoga (selfless service) and bhakti yoga (the yoga of devotion).

Jennifer combines her training in classical Hatha yoga,as well as her experience as a runner and triathlete and a decade of experience in the field of mental health and wellness to offer a unique practice to students. Using the breath as a guide, benefits include strengthening and purifying the body and mind, decreasing stress and illness and lifting the spirit.  Her approach to teaching is light-hearted,spiritual and strongly rooted in self-reflection. Jennifer is passionate about yoga’s healing powers for those of all ages.

Jennifer is grateful for her personal journey of discovery through yoga practice. In 2005 she became certified as a yoga teacher through a Sivananda Vedanta Centre in India. Since then Jennifer has continued her learning and self-reflection through various trainings including pre/post natal yoga, kids’ yoga,Anusara-inspired alignment workshops and meditation retreats.  She regularly spends time at the Yasodhara Ashram in the Kootenays,B.C. and strives to incorporate Swami Sivananda Radha’s teachings into her own life and classes.

Jennifer feels blessed to be part of the yoga community in Calgary and is grateful to a number of local yoga teachers who have encouraged and supported her along her path.
